Building Leaders Through Service®

The Building Leaders Through Service® program is a service learning experience designed to further the personal development of students and provide for a practical application of learned skills through community service involvement. This experiential program will aid in student success on your campus.

The vision of this program is to equip all college students with the knowledge and tools needed to maximize their potential by developing their abilities through servant leadership.

The first part of the program is a three-hour leadership training program that will cover a variety of important skills and traits that effective servant leaders possess, such as listening, accepting responsibility, putting others above self, and creating a lifetime commitment to others . Each participant will receive a resource guide that will provide them with material which can be used throughout their academic and professional careers. The seminar is fun and interactive, with an emphasis on applying the information learned to community service activities.

The second part of the program engages students in activities designed to further their leadership development. Applying what they have learned, student success is achieved by participating in a day of service, service plunge, large scale service projects, alternative spring breaks, and/or other community service activities. This service learning program enhances educational experiences through involvement with others and giving back to the community.

The Building Leaders Through Service® program is designed to instill in students a life-long commitment to community service involvement, servant leadership, service learning, and personal development.
